This project is funded by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, and will increase market opportunities for smallholder farmers and to respond to the demand of hotels in Port-au-Prince, anchored by IFC’s clients Marriott Hotels, and Codevi Industrial park in Ouanaminthe, which provides meals for its employees and houses cantines for its factory workers. This project will reduce market barriers for Haitian farmers that have the potential to meet part of this market demand currently satisfied through imports.

This Global Affairs Canada-funded project is a five-year maize and bean value chain project managed by Papyrus and its partners, Research Triangle International (RTI), and Alliance for the Management of Risks and Business Continuity (AGERCA). MAIS is also changing the lives of women and youth in rural communities by improving capacity through agricultural education, providing small grants and increasing market access.

Projects
Papyrus manages the time-consuming, complex, and often challenging tasks of managing your business, project, and research teams. Widely viewed as the premier management firm in Haiti, we believe that strong systems, locally led solutions and strategic partnerships are key to solving development challenges anywhere in the world.
Agriculture Value Chain Development

Unpredictability can be the most predictable part of doing business, especially in the agricultural industry. Papyrus has the specialized skills to manage relationships, maximize resource efficiency and meet production objectives for private-public partnerships. Small producers also trust us because we understand their unique needs. Papyrus works effectively with minimal infrastructure while enhancing adoption and sustainability. Our team increases the chances of success for multiple small producers with a combination of innovative pre-financing and crop insurance methods and hands-on, effective management.
My greatest accomplishment at Papyrus has been to align my skills to a deeper understanding of compliance. This ability is not to be underestimated in this environment of rapid expansion over the past two years in particular.
